Her Flesh and Blood Synopsis

The short version, anyway.

When Katie Forbes and her kids watch the family dog attack a homeless man on the trail, they are horrified. When that man tears the face off a passing jogger who tries to intervene, they run for their lives.

South of Seattle, Wash., in the sleepy community of Thorn Ridge, Katie and her neighbors on a quiet cul-de-sac are about to have their lives torn apart. An apocalyptic disease strikes the Pacific Northwest, and soon maniacs are slaughtering people in the streets. With her husband stuck on the east coast, it falls on Katie to protect her young son and daughter and find an escape.

Ill equipped to survive the end of times, the young mother suffers unthinkable brutalities yet must find the strength to persevere through the loss of everything she believes in—community, humanity and even sanity, to keep her children alive and safe from the savages that pursue them. She learns that there is no one to depend on, no one she can trust and most importantly, nothing she would not do for her flesh and blood.

Sounds pretty interesting, I’ll definitely take a closer look at it. I hope it makes a good breakfast reading, but given the fact that I watch zombie movies during dinner on a regular basis, that shouldn’t be a problem^^

And huge respect for completing NaNo; I tried and failed miserably. Buuut there’s always the next year 🙂

Oh, and just a suggestion: It would make reading in chronological order easier if you created a “Novel” page and “Chapter X” sub-pages. But that’s just a technicality, and maybe it’s just me anyway…

    • Thanks Ricarda, Nano was a revelation for me. I never really wrote fiction before.

I know it can be a pain to catch up with a story when its not chronological but it just feels right to load it in one day at a time. Plus, I love watching the growing stats!
